This issue#58 is loaded with kustoms and history galore with 8 more pages of full color custom goodness!
Our cover car is a gorgeous 1950 Ford shoebox coupe, chopped and customized by none other than the late Bill Hines. “Lova” is a tribute to Bill’s wife and was finished off by Tom Cunningham and friends in honor of Lova herself.
Also featured is another shoebox Ford owned by a “young gun” by the name of Ryan Kopchinski. His radically chopped ’49 sedan is perfect and traditional in every way. We know you will like it.
Next is a custom from across the sea! Palle Johansen drew inspiration from George Barris, and with the help of his good friend Rik Hoving, created a stunning ’47 Cadillac with a Gaylord-style padded top. This one is a true time warp!
Speaking of time warps, our first “History” article is part 2 of “Where were you in ’82?” a look back at the 1980s resurgence of custom cars. You’ll be Lost in the ‘50s in no time when you check out the vintage ‘80s-era customs, stories and memorabilia.
The Cunningham/Saltsman ’40 Mercury is our second history article and what a story it is! Built in the late ‘40s, this Merc was a head of its time. From super-show car to everyday driver, this custom saw a lot of action. Learn about it through stories and anecdotes by the people who were around it firsthand.
Event coverage this issue includes the Kustom Kemps of America “Leadsled Spectacular” in Salina, Kansas as well as the customs of the Grand National Roadster Show in Pomona, California.
Another great issue with nothing but custom cars…..100% Kustom!
